The Foundation for educational and cultural betterment “Source of Hope” organizes a lecture on “Independence of BiH and its Future” on 26 February.
A guest lecturer in this lecture will be Velid Bajramović, a Bosnian-Herzegovinian publicist, the winner of the biggest war award “Golden Lily” and brigadier of Army RBiH in retirement.
The lecture will be held on 26 February, at 7 pm at Student Dormitory Source of Hope on Ilidža (Butmirska cesta 18d).
“The Foundation “Source of Hope” seeks to highlight all more important dates of Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to remind our citizens of the importance of those events in our history. Thus, Mr. Velid Bajramović’s lecture is an ideal opportunity to remind ourselves of our country’s road to its independence,” said Tarik Agetović, director of the Foundation “Source of Hope”, and invited Sarajevo citizens to be guests of the Foundation on this lecture.

Velid Bajramović was born on February 20, 1962 in the city. He finished his primary school “Nikola Mačkić” – Ključ in 1976, his secondary school “Lazar Đukić” – Ključ in 1980. In 1980 he was admitted to the Air Force Technical Military Academy in Rajlovac – Sarajevo, which he successfully finished and graduated on July 30, 1983. On that occasion he was promoted to the rank of second lieutenant. From 1983 to 1992 he worked at the Air Force School Center in Rajlovac as a lecturer of nine professional subjects, the commander of the Pitomača lines and Assistant Commander of the Pitomača Battalion for Morality. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant in 1985 and in 1988 to the rank of captain.
In 1992 he transferred to the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was wounded on August 08, 1992 with a minethrower mine. In 1993 he successfully completed the course for the military and diplomatic delegations in the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As an officer, he was placed at hight ranks in the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and promoted to the rankings of: captain-general in 1994, military chief in 1996; colonel in 2000 and brigadier in 2004, when he goes to military retirement on personal request. In 2004, after leaving for military retirement, he was devoted to writing books. He lives and works in Sarajevo.
He received the following acknowledgments: The Greatest War Award “Golden Lily”, the “Bosanski Stećak” plaque from the Command of the 1st Corps of the Army of the RBiH, a sign for contribution to the Defense of Sarajevo and the Republic of BiH from the Mayor of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo, money prize of the Joint Command of the FBiH Army, the Hunting Carbine from the Joint Command of the FBiH, a plaque for Defense Contribution from the 17th Viteška Krajiška Brigade, the FBiH Ministry of Defense dedication clock, the Golden Plaque of the City of Ključ ” 15 September “.
